PCMark 7
Website: PCMark 7
PCMark 7's storage benchmark uses SATA traces to emulate specific workloads and apply them to each SSD on test. We've selected the Gaming and Application load tests to highlight here. As some PCMark tests generate the same result regardless of SSD, we feel these speeds are more relevant than PCMark's overall score. We report the raw result, which discounts idle times within the traces, and makes differences between drives more apparent.

BootRacer
Website: BootRacer
BootRacer allows us to accuratly time Windows 7 64-bit reboot times down to hundredths of a second. We run the test on a fresh install of Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit with only the GPU driver installed (Catalyst 13.12), first allowing five restarts to allow Windows 7 to get its caching together, before taking the average of the five subsequent reboot times as our result. This is done on a different system which contains an Intel Core-i7 2600K overclocked to 4.4GHz in an Asus Maximus V Formula motherboard paired with 2 x 2GB of Crucial Ballistix 1,600Mhz RAM and an AMD Radeon HD 5870.
